One of the prettiest aspects of every wedding, at least in my opinion, is the floral arrangements that are chosen. I love how you can tell so much about the couple by the flowers they pick for bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, etc. The great thing about flowers is - they don’t have to be that expensive. You do not need to spend thousands and thousands of dollars to have beautiful arrangements. Can you spend that much? Sure - anything’s possible. But you don’t have to.
One of the best wedding trends to come to 2016 so far is the fresh picked flowers trend - we’ll focus on bouquets for this post. We’re seeing that brides are leaning towards more organic and freeform vibe when it comes to arrangements. Brides tend to pick more of what’s in season and local instead of searching for a florist who can provide that specific flower that you just have to have at an outrageous cost.
I really wish this was the trend when I got married. Don’t get me wrong, I loved all of my flowers and my bouquet was beautiful - see below (shameless photo of my amazing wedding that coincidentally highlights my bouquet) - but there is a simple elegance to these freeform bouquets that I just absolutely love.
One of my favorite local florists, Exotic Green Garden, (full disclosure, she did the flowers for my wedding!) has some beautiful, organic, freeform bouquets available. The one below one is absolutely stunning!
You’ll see a lot of greenery is now being mixed in with the flowers. The shape of the bouquet is not perfect - but that’s what makes it even more unique.
Another trend is to add succulents in with your bouquet like the one below:
This one has a really natural but elegant feel to it. The succulent in the middle is the perfect addition to this rustic bouquet.
Another trend is to have fresh herbs added to your bouquets - this one below has some fresh rosemary in addition to eucalyptus.
I could go on and on - there are so many options that are absolutely beautiful and will take your special day up a notch. I suggest checking out our Pinterest page for more wedding florals that we love.
